Chris Canova and Jim Klippel Create "Summer Song" Nature Series
Chris and Jim create a new art series celebrating nature and the summer season, named "Summer Song". The old brick Tannery, home of their studios is like a brick pizza oven in the summer. This season, "we have had weeks on end with temperatures in the high 90s. As the Tannery has no air conditioning, indoors it reaches the low 90s by noon", Jim notes. A unique series was forged from this heat, to help think cool. The impressionist-abstract work integrates conventional techniques such as brush work, and palate knife strokes. Then in layers, press work and liquid are molded into the flowing art piece, releasing the energy of life and of the creatures portrayed with-in. Creatures of the hot summer months are counter-balanced with the soothing feeling of cool flowing waters, and the night in melodic patterns. Dragonflies and others will soon be posted on My Creative Element web site. The art pieces may also be enjoyed in person at the Tannery Summer Art Show in historic Buford, Georgia.
