The Wanderer entering St Andrews Sound between Cumberland Island on the south and Jekyll Island on the north was the last slave ship to enter the United States on November 28 1858. Marine painting of the Wanderer by James H. Klippel. Jim Klippel attended the dedication services of a memorial site marking the 100th anniversery and painted this acrylic on canvas dedicated to the slaves and their surviviors.
