Jim Klippel is honored with another ARDA award for his passive solar house plan design

Organic Architecture and Jim Klippel receive another 2011 ARDA award. Design. living architecture, and art growing from the inside out in the form of a natural home, is embraced by the panel of judges. James H. Klippel continues to create architecture, which connects ones senses with the surrounding natural environment. Jim's award winning passive solar house plan is based on arcs, and "grows" naturally out of the Earth. The flowing home plan utilizes the "fifth plane of architecture", the roof, as a living roof top garden terrace. The house design has a projected REMRATE performance rating in the low forties, without including photovoltaic ,which would bring it down to "net 0". The home plan conforms to the ENERGY STAR 3.0 2012 codes.
